Kraut OM 2011 Natural
Raymond Kraut OM, hand selected Spruce top, hand selected figured Koa back and sides, Ebony fingerboard, front and back peghead overlays, stylized matching Koa rosette, Alissi handmade Italian tuners, 25-inch scale, 1-3/4” nut width, 2-1/4” string spacing.
This jaw-dropping guitar is number 37, built in 2011 by master builder Ray Kraut.
A former apprentice of Ervin Somogyi, he seeks to build guitars that exhibit unprecedented responsiveness. This example is no exception; expertly chosen woods and Kraut’s advanced lutherie techniques combine, making this a masterpiece of looks, sound, and playability.
Mckenzie River Music is fortunate to have shared a friendly relationship with Ray. He lived and worked in Eugene for a number of years and stunned the staff when he first visited the store with one of his guitars. It’s rare to have a chance to experience the evolution and growth of a master builder, much less have the opportunity to get to know the craftsman in person.
From the Kraut website:
“I believe that my guitars should be an extension of the player. An important relationship develops between a player and his or her guitar. The guitar should bring the player to life through its ability to immediately respond and show the player what is possible.”
Cedar Creek hardshell case included.
